eclipses are thus portals for sweeping, far-reaching change. the pisces moon with the north node points us toward embracing transcendental and spiritual principles, opening into compassion, unity, and the awareness of our interconnectedness.
in the zodiac wheel, virgo and pisces are located directly across from each other; together, they form an axis. this means that, although they may appear to be opposites based on their placement, the design in fact reveals that they are actually the extreme points of one same substance; they form a polarity. order versus surrender.
I felt drawn to make this polarity/eclipse into a visual candle, ritually prepared to help anchor the intention to let go of this unfolding narrative, addressing shadows of control, perfectionist behaviours (virgo/healer) and embrace spiritual surrender, compassion, and intuition (pisces/dreamer).
these candles also intentionally resemble porcupine quills, representing innocence, faith, setting boundaries, self-defence and a gentle heart.
